IRA Gifts
If you are 70.5 or older, you can make an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly to GMO Free USA. QCDs are excluded from your taxable income, likely reducing the taxes you owe. QCDs count toward your required minimum distribution, and you can give up to $100,000 each year. Contact your IRA administrator for specific instructions for your account.
Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)
A donor-advised fund (DAF) allows you to receive an immediate tax deduction for money set aside in a fund strictly for charitable contributions, and then make donations (aka grants) from that fund over time. It’s like a savings account for charitable contributions. Many brokerage firms, mutual fund companies and community foundations let you open a donor-advised fund. You can give cash, stocks, mutual funds or other assets, and some donor-advised funds even accept shares of privately held companies, real estate and other complicated assets. Consult your tax advisor to learn more about the benefits of a DAF.

Recurring DAF donations are also possible (monthly, quarterly, yearly). One of the biggest barriers to even more impact is that we often don’t have certainty about how much money will come in during a given year. Many people choose to make a recurring gift because it allows us to plan more thoughtfully and make the most of your donations. And you can always cancel if you change your mind.
Many donors forget to add beneficiary designations. You can designate GMO Free USA as a beneficiary for your Donor Advised Fund. Ask your DAF sponsor.
Employer Matching Gifts
Did you know that over 24,000 companies, including corporations, foundations, nonprofits and associations, offer matching gift programs? Requesting a match is usually as easy as submitting a simple form. Some companies will match or even double-match your donation. And some will also match grants from DAFs and gifts of stock.
We recommend submitting your request right after you donate to GMO Free USA. Some companies have time limits for matching gift requests.

As you plan for future generations of your family, please consider contributing to the future of GMO Free USA. When you include GMO Free USA in your will, your commitment to clean food and a clean environment becomes part of your legacy.
You can also name GMO Free USA as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, retirement account or living trust.
Gifts of Stock
Making a gift with appreciated stock will provide you a charitable deduction for the full value of the gift, whereas if you were to liquidate the assets and make a cash gift, you would be responsible for paying capital gains tax. As a result, donating stock may allow you to contribute more than you normally would if you were giving cash due to the tax savings.
