HB 4122 has been referred to the Senate Committee on Health Care where it is scheduled for a public hearing and possible work session on Tuesday, February 23rd. While all the provisions regarding GMO seed were stripped out of the bill, we still stand a good chance at getting this bill passed which would require all Genetically Engineered fish sold is the state of Oregon to be labeled so that Oregonians can make an informed decision when buying fish.
WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW TO GET HB 4122 VOTED OUT OF COMMITTEE AND INTO THE LEGISLATURE FOR A FULL FLOOR VOTE!
Please call AND email the five members of the Senate Committee on Health and POLITELY urge them to approve HB 4122 and send it to a full floor vote. Consumers want to know what they are buying and we should let the free market decide if GE fish are wanted by the public or not, and the only way they’ll know is if they are labeled.
GE Salmon are the first genetically engineered animal ever approved for human consumption and we have a right to know if we are eating untested, unproven, and unneeded Frankenfish.
